inside we are different. the world will never understand.the only thing I don't 100% absolutely love about this video is the teasing scene at 2:09 which is a little too on the nose, and there are occasionaly rhythm problems, especially in the refrain, when the image and music don't match enough or match too directly. Otherwise this video and the song are of the most perfectest genius.

This song is one the best from Depeche Mode... Just imagine if Alan Wilder still had been part of the band. Probably his sound could have taken this song to another great level.

This song is about Temptation and addiction. The car crashes represent people who have crashed from addiction. The twins represent the two sides of someones personality. Both personalities look the same until one personality becomes addicted.The skinny girl and the heavier set girl with the bear shirt represent someone losing to their addiction. The heavy set girl seems more out of control, and unhealthy. She is bearing (bear on shirt) the brunt of her addiction. The skinnier girl is her if she wins the battle. The guy in the black car who looks to be in ecstasy is enjoying his addiction at the moment. He is being tempted by the person in the red dress dancing around the car. I say person because you can't really tell if it is a woman or a man wearing a dress. Because addiction knows no gender. Just my interpretation. Peace.
